To be honest I am excited, but do have one gripe. It already has a game page on Steam, and is planned to be released on April 19, 2021, exactly 10 years after the launch of Portal 2. Portal Reloaded will have 25 puzzles and a small story line with it’s own voice lines. Thankfully this looks like it will become a playable game. Although after seeing that I can start to think of other ways the time portal can be utilized as well. Objects in the room are still there 20 years later, and objects from the future can be brought back to the past to help solve puzzles. Watching the gameplay trailer it starts to make sense. This is what modder Jannis Brinkmann has been working on, and although at first it doesn’t seem like it would be useful. Unless your adding a third portal, and this portal is unlike the others, because instead of sending objects to the opposite portal, this portal sends objects through time into the future. So it’s hard to imagine there being a lot of game changing concepts that could be added to Portal games. Portal 2 added a lot into the mix with the story of Cave Johnson, different gels, and a co-op multiplayer campaign that to this day is a good play though for those who haven’t done it. The story is good, level design is done well, and the visual and sound design is top notch adding to the experience. Portal was a game that took a simple concept, and elevated it to one of the best games of all time.
